Oil and Gas

Oil and gas extraction can cause significant ground displacement above producing reservoirs. InSAR technology offers an ideal solution for measuring and monitoring surface movements with highly accurate results. 3vG's technology can provide millions of displacement measurements over a single field to accurately monitor the extent, direction and rate of motion. Operators can track surface uplift related to water / CO2 injection or subsidence from production. Known areas of movement are monitored and displacement areas of unexpected uplift can be identified. Better surface data leads to better operational decisions. Entire fields can be monitored with a balance between high accuracy and wide area coverage that in-situ measurements cannot match.

Infrastructure Asset Management

Ground movement poses a significant risk to structural integrity of infrastructure, both above and below ground. Subsidence, uplift and other hazards can affect the structural integrity of buildings, transportation networks, public utility systems (i.e. systems such as sewage, power) and communications networks. 3v Geomatics has developed a monitoring service to detect and map millimeter-level movements throughout urban areas or specific facilities. Geohazards

Mining

3vGeomatics' Mine Monitoring Service is capable of detecting potential hazards at the mine site and surrounding area. This critical information can be delivered to mine engineers on a Near Real Time basis to enable the implementation of preventative measures, minimizing the impact to safety and production. The monitoring covers large areas and provides information on both open pit and sub-surface mining along with access roads and pipelines. The Mine Monitoring Service is designed to monitor:

Offshore

Radar satellites are ideal for monitoring surface oil. The active sensors produce unique signatures when interacting with water versus oil. This unique signature can be used to identify and delineate the natural oil seeps and oil spills on the ocean surface. Using multiple satellite sensors gives the advantage of increasing revisit times, multiple resolutions and provides back-up in the event of a system failure. Extensive archived data exists worldwide to generate historical seep analysis for new areas of exploration. 3vG's semi-automated processes combines advanced feature detection algorithm with operator interpretation expertise. The objective is to reduce the number of false targets and increase the likelihood of detecting even small spills. Radar derived data is integrated with wind direction, ship detection, wave conditions, shadow and cloud detection and historical input. Here are some use cases:
